In this study, in order to apply the protection design to private facilities, matters to be additionally considered when applying the protection design to the parking lot on the 3rd basement floor of an apartment complex were identified. For the protection design, the minimum emergency evacuation area for each capacity and area was set, and the evacuation area, clean machine room, contaminated machine room, and decontamination room were set in consideration of the minimum emergency evacuation area. After that, the level of protection, the number of people to be accommodated, and the emergency evacuation area were considered. When applying the protection design, the additional cost of applying the protection design such as explosion proof, fire protection, radiation, and electromagnetic waves was identified, and it was confirmed that it increased by about 6 % compared to the existing total construction cost including EMP protection. The rate of increase in construction cost may be burdensome from an economic point of view for the application of protection design of private facilities, but it can be expected that the increase rate of construction cost will be reduced in various ways, such as whether EMP protection is applied, the use of facilities that generate ordinary profits from protection facilities, and the reduction of facility costs due to the daily use of protection design. In addition, research in various fields is needed so that it can be applied appropriately to private facilities, and through this, it is expected that access to the application of protection design to private facilities will be improved.
